Anyone can suggest a new phrase or a correction in the Community tab. Everyone votes ▲ or ▼.
At +2 net votes a suggestion is automatically published to the phrasebook with a ✓ badge;
at −2 it is retired. No single person decides — the community does.
Different areas say the same word differently, and that is not a mistake. Both forms can be accepted
and shown side by side with their 📍 place tags. Tap 🤍 to like a published variant: the most-liked one
gets the ⭐ and appears first. The ⭐ only means most familiar to people using this app — it does
not mean that form is more correct, purer, or more official than yours. Every village's way of
speaking is right for that village.
You can also ask "How do you say…?" and a speaker will answer.
Browsing and quizzes need no account. Voting and suggesting phrases need a quick email sign-in — this keeps bots out. You choose a public display name; your email is never shown to anyone. Your suggestions and their vote scores appear in the 👤 Profile tab. You can withdraw a suggestion with 🗑️ while it's still being voted on; once accepted, it becomes part of the community phrasebook — to remove your name or an accepted entry, use 💬 Give feedback and the maintainer will handle it.
The languages belong to the communities who speak them — not to this app. Everything contributed is published free forever under a CC BY-SA licence, so no one can lock these words inside a paid product. Any tribal union, school or researcher can request a full copy of the data for their language. Please don't submit sacred or restricted words that your community reserves for ritual use. · Write words the way they sound — there is no official spelling, your best attempt is valuable.
· Tag your district or village so local ways of speaking are preserved, not flattened into one.
· Record audio whenever you can — sound carries the tone and rhythm that letters cannot.
· If someone's word differs from yours, add yours alongside it instead of downvoting theirs — both may be right.
· Downvote only what is wrong, invented, or spam — never a word simply because your area says it differently.
· Don't submit sacred or restricted words your community reserves for ritual or ceremony.
· Only add recordings of another person with their permission, after telling them it will be public.
· Sit with your elders — they hold the deepest words. Their voice in this app is a gift to the next generation.
